Upload - paper and scans

Who this page is for: front-desk staff and the practice manager - this is the channel for everything that arrives as paper.

Some referrals walk in the door: a letter a patient carries, a page from the practice scanner, a document printed and handed over. Upload is the catch-all channel that brings them into the same queue as email, fax and secure messaging.

The connected Inbox does not currently expose drag and drop or a public front-desk upload. Selecting Upload during signup records that the practice needs this path; it does not enable one. The guided setup check uses a fixed fictional record with no patient information. It does not verify Upload or any other connector; connector proof requires a separate arrival through that actual connector.

Patient-document upload stays unavailable until the source-document lifecycle checks prove original retention, authenticated retrieval, restore/readback, complete export and tenant-verifiable integrity end to end. Object-Locked source-archive storage is deployed in AWS Sydney; complete write, retrieval, restore and export verification remains the launch check.

Paper is where capture usually breaks: it depends on someone remembering to scan and file. Once the upload path is released, the administrative record can be sealed and queued in one motion. Until then, the practice must keep following its existing source-document handling process; Refera does not claim an upload record is a substitute for that archive.

Refera tracks referral admin only. It does not triage patients.

Examples are fictional and contain no patient information. Practice staff approve every external action. Refera never auto-sends or independently contacts patients.
